Quality Control

We at Alkaloids, lay special emphasis on Quality Control. From the initial stage and right upto the Finished Product, we maintain stringent quality control. Our laboratories are equipped with modern analytical instruments like HPTLC, HPLCs, GC, UV-VIS Spectrophotometer, auto-titrators etc.

Crude Drugs are subjected to careful morphological and chemical analysis. Extracts of Crude Drugs are subjected to HPTLC "fingerprinting". This provides a "fingerprinting" of the chemical constituents in a Crude Drug. In-process tests are conducted at various stages to keep quality check. Our Phytochemicals, apart from complying with the Pharmacopoeial standards also comply with certain in-house tests devised by our R&D. Finished Products are of very high purity and contain much lower levels of residual solvents than that stipulated in ICH guidelines.

Apart from routine analysis, equal emphasis is given on:

  • Impurity Profiling, wherever needed
  • Stability Studies
  • Validation of Analytical Methods
  • GLP Training

In the absence of internationally acceptable testing protocols for analyzing Herbal Extracts and Nutraceuticals, many of the Testing methods used by us have been developed in-house. Quantification of active ingredient(s) is done by UV-VIS Spectrophotometry, HPLC & HPTLC. All extracts and nutraceuticals, which we offer are standardized and are validated with an Analytical Certificate.
